Project Description
The project was to redesign their publisher and advertiser platforms in response to user feedback and technology upgrades.
As the sole designer for 3 agile teams, I performed on-site user research, created sketches and prototypes, and delivered high fidelity mockups. On two weeks sprints, I created, tested and developed new designs each sprint. I tested with 5-7 users each iteration before any changes were submitted.
During development I paired with developers to quickly create what had been envisioned and designed.
Summary
CJ has a very mature agile framework for development that was a pleasure to work in. This included product managers who knew the customers and users very well and had a clear idea of what they wanted built.
A great way to make sure that the product will do what is intended is to work with product managers to list all the use cases. I created low fidelity prototypes were created in Balsamiq to review all use cases with product managers. I also encouraged product managers to try to design in Balsamiq to express their ideas.

Detailed wireframes at low fidelity allow the focus to be all on the interaction without getting caught up in visual design.

As the project progressed, we moved into prototyping at a higher fidelity in Adobe Flex with more interaction and some more realistic user data.

Once the medium fidelity interface was functional, I tested with users and iterated until all the usability issues were ironed out. Much of the testing was rapidly done during two week agile sprints with employees working in user scenarios.

The new account manager, relied on by thousands of users per day for their advertising income, was released over a weekend without event. Response was very positive as we swapped out the entire interface all at once.
