Project Description
Create a tool to help designers create accessible color palettes for their projects.
Summary
Choosing a few accessible colors can be daunting but trying to create an entirely accessible color palette across multiple colors can be nearly impossible. I created a proof of concept that would allow a user to choose their core colors and then find surrounding colors on a ten-point scale for accessibility contrast matching.
Working collaboratively with IBM Design, we came up with a ten-point system for designers to know which colors could be used against others for text and information. The manual process of choosing colors took weeks and needed to be adjusted many times before it settled.
In order to automated this process, a user would need to choose a color, lock it, and then have all subsequent colors tested against it. I sketched some ideas for locking.

As the project progressed, we moved into prototyping at a higher fidelity in Adobe Flex with more interaction and some more realistic user data.
